Daily Active Users Up 10x: How fomo Captured the Robinhood Chain Boom in Three Months

How hot is fomo right now?
On one hand, profit screenshots are frequently appearing on social platforms, with gains often in the hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars. On Aug. 31, fomo's official communication even stated that the platform's leaderboard had its first trader with a PnL of $10 million. On the other hand, many KOLs have begun intensively sharing their fomo referral codes, directing followers straight to the platform.
As trading on Robinhood Chain heats up, a battle for user and order flow entry points is rapidly unfolding, and fomo is one of the most visibly growing platforms.
Adam Tehc's Dune dashboard has a dedicated "Trading Bot Wars" section. On Aug. 31, GMGN accounted for about 43.6% of Robinhood Chain trading terminal volume, and fomo about 35.6%, together roughly 79.2%. This share is based on trading terminal volume, but it shows that fomo has become one of the main trading entry points on Robinhood Chain.

Robinhood Chain trading dominates on fomo
fomo originally focused on Solana as its main market, but its trading structure is shifting with market trends.
Adam Tehc's Dune dashboard shows that in late May 2026, fomo's daily trading volume came mainly from Solana and Base; by early July, Solana at one point contributed nearly 90%. As support for Robinhood Chain began and trading activity on that chain surged, the platform's volume mix shifted again.
On Aug. 31, Robinhood Chain accounted for about 75% of fomo's daily trading volume, Solana about 20%, BNB Chain about 3.4%, and Base about 1%. These are approximate ratios read from the latest bar chart, and daily shares will vary with market trends, so they should not be taken as fixed long-term shares.

Active trader numbers are also growing in tandem. From March to May 2026, fomo's daily active traders were mostly in the thousands; in early June it was still under 10,000, then began rising rapidly. By late August, daily active traders had been in the 80,000 to over 100,000 range for multiple days, with peaks exceeding 100,000—at least an order of magnitude higher than early June.
This growth is also reflected in fomo's disclosed overall business data. In November 2025, the author previously covered this product in "Gold Mining Handbook: Why Top VC Benchmark's Eye Fell on fomo?" At that time, fomo disclosed over 120,000 users and about 35,000 traders; cumulative trading volume was only $850 million.
On Aug. 31, 2026, fomo announced that total users had surpassed 1.9 million, with over 1.2 million users active in August, and the platform adding over 30,000 new users per day.
Its monthly trading volume grew from $500 million in June to $1.5 billion in July, a 200% month-over-month increase, i.e., tripling; fomo at the time predicted August volume would exceed $2.8 billion, at least about 87% higher than July.
fomo also estimated August monthly revenue at about $17 million, corresponding to an annualized revenue run rate of over $200 million.
Why are referral codes flooding feeds?
KOLs sharing fomo referral codes en masse is not just spontaneous promotion. Around user growth and social trading, fomo has built three interconnected mechanisms: Clans, Trader Rewards, and Referral rewards.
First is the Referral reward. According to official information released by fomo on June 2, 2026, when a new user registers with a referral code, the referrer receives 25% of the trading fees generated by that user. At that time, fomo announced cumulative referral payouts to users had exceeded $2 million.
Second is Trader Rewards, which reward "people who facilitate the spread of trading ideas." According to fomo's introduction published on Aug. 28, users can share their trading views or investment logic within the platform; if that content drives other users to trade, the publisher can receive real-time rewards. However, fomo has not publicly disclosed the specific calculation formula, reward ratio, or applicable trading scope in that post, so it should not be simply understood as a fixed-percentage commission rebate.
Clans further turn individual trading into team activity, focusing on group trading. Users can join only one Clan at a time, can enter a team via invitation, and can display their Clan on their profile.
From spot to Perps, fomo is no longer just a mobile trading app
fomo's ability to capture trends across different chains is tied to its product design. Users can access multiple blockchains with a single account and balance, without needing to manually switch networks, bridge assets, or prepare different gas tokens. Leaderboards, trading feeds, and quick buy buttons shorten the path from discovering an asset to completing a trade.
Over the past few months, fomo has successively added Web, professional charts, perpetual contracts, and team competition features. In April 2026, according to data disclosed by fomo at the end of August, the Web platform currently accounts for about 25% of total platform trading volume.
In June, fomo launched fomo Perps. The product is powered by Hyperliquid and TradeXYZ, covering perpetual contracts on crypto assets, stocks, pre-IPO companies, stock indices, and commodities, with long/short trading, leverage, isolated margin, and take-profit/stop-loss features.
Perps are not disconnected from the original social features. Related positions are also integrated into user profiles and activity feeds, so users can see when other traders open positions.
19-year-old founder exits with eight figures; fomo acquires Mobula's core technology
When daily active traders grow from thousands to over 100,000, while simultaneously handling Solana, Robinhood Chain, BNB Chain, and other networks, the pressure fomo faces comes from on-chain data.
When a new token appears, the app needs to identify its contract address, name, and network, and continuously read transactions, liquidity, price, holder addresses, and wallet behavior, then organize raw records from different blockchains into data users can understand.
Mobula provides exactly this kind of infrastructure. Its public documentation shows that Mobula's data products cover token prices and market data, wallet assets and transaction records, token metadata, position PnL, and real-time data streams, delivered to other applications via API and other means.
On Aug. 31, fomo announced the acquisition of proprietary software and intellectual property developed by Mobula. According to Axios, citing fomo CEO Paul Erlanger, the deal was valued at $17 million, but fomo's official announcement itself did not disclose the amount.
Mobula founder Sacha Marcus, co-founder and CTO Sacha Delhoux, and infrastructure lead Cyril Conan will join fomo's engineering team. The deal also has a highly shareable detail: Sacha Delhoux was only 19 years old when the deal closed.
He later posted on X under the theme "How I sold my company for eight figures at 19," reflecting on his entrepreneurial journey. He attributed Mobula's growth to a small but technically dense team, long-term trust built with B2B clients, and product differences directly perceptible to customers such as data latency, stability, and service responsiveness.
The scope of the deal needs to be accurately distinguished. fomo's official announcement confirms that it acquired software and intellectual property developed by Mobula, and absorbed some core members.
Summary
fomo is no longer just a mobile app that simplifies trading steps, but is gradually forming a product system covering asset discovery, social distribution, creator distribution, trading entry points, and data support.
As the operational barriers to on-chain trading continue to fall, competition among consumer-grade apps is shifting from "can you complete a trade" to "who can simultaneously control users, distribution, and data."
