Crypto Billionaire Death: Christian Peev Has Been Found Dead

Another prominent figure in the crypto world has been found dead in the past month.

 

Christian Peev, an absentee American crypto investor, was recently discovered in a sewer in Bulgaria. According to reports, the skeletons were found on Tuesday by plumbers clearing a clogged sewer.

 

 

 

According to the Daily Mirror, Christian Peev’s relative reported him missing last Thursday. However, new evidence suggests that the 41-year-old may have been murdered by his friend Vesco Valchinov just two days before.

 

Another crypto influencer, Fernando Pérez Algaba, was found dead in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a month ago, so this tragedy comes on the heels of that one.

 

 

What happened to Christian Peev?

 

 

According to reports, Peev vanished sometime in early August, and last Thursday, his cousin reported him missing, prompting an investigation.

 

The unfortunate remains of the American-Bulgarian investor were discovered by plumbers summoned to clean a clogged drain in Sofia, Bulgaria on Tuesday. They recovered human remains. Although the deceased was missing its head and a few bones, forensics were able to positively identify the remains as belonging to Peev. After realizing he couldn’t dispose of them in the toilet, the killer buried them.

 

Vesco Valchinov, a bartender, was first identified as the main suspect in the murder inquiry. Christian Peev, who frequents bars, allegedly met Vesco there about five or six years ago. Then, Christian Peev informed Valchinov about the bitcoin market.

 

It is unclear, however, how this friendship might have resulted in a murder. Valchinov and Peev were spotted entering Valchinov’s home on surveillance tape last Tuesday, but only Valchinov was observed leaving the home the following day. Valchinov murdered Peev at his home with a dumbbell, according to forensic findings.

 

The cops tracked Valchinov’s phone and eventually caught up with him at a motel on Vitosha Mountain. According to reports, the authorities have also detained Konstantin Subotinov, a henchman of Valchinov’s. He admitted that he had assisted Valchinov in disposing of Peev’s body by transporting some of the remains to Vitosha for burial.

Why did Christian Peev get killed?

 

Peev was rumoured to have amassed a sizable fortune thanks to his forays into the cryptocurrency market. Authorities believe monetary motives were behind the killing. The wealth that Peev has amassed has led some to speculate that Valchinov was envious of him.

 

Authorities are making progress in their investigation, and more information will be made public as they work to solve the mystery of what caused this tragedy.

 

 

Recent crypto-related murders

 

The death and dismemberment of Christian Peev makes him the second prominent cryptocurrency millionaire to be discovered in the past month. We broke the story last month of the murder of Argentine crypto influencer Fernando Pérez Algaba, whose dismembered body was found in a bag.

 

Onfo Coin designer John Forsyth was discovered shot dead in Northwest Arkansas in May, and MobileCoin creator Bob Lee was found stabbed to death in San Francisco in April. Vyacheslav Taran, a Russian millionaire, died in a helicopter crash late last year in Monaco. According to reports, the weather was fine and a second passenger had to cancel at the last minute.

 

Tiantian Kullander, founder of Hong Kong-based digital asset company Amber Group, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep a week before Taran’s tragedy struck. The 30-year-old founder had grown the business to a $3 billion ‘fintech unicorn.’

 

Around the same time, it appears that Nikolai Mushegian, the creator of MakerDAO and a crypto billionaire, perished in Puerto Rico. Not only did Nikolai have a history of mental illness, but in the hours leading up to his death he tweeted comments about conspiracies that seemed to predict his own demise.
