Ethereum Institutional Backs Proposal to Cut Ethereum Block Time to 10 Seconds Under EIP-8198

Odaily News: The nonprofit organization Ethereum Institutional posted on X expressing support for Ethlabs' proposal to shorten Ethereum block times, EIP-8198 ("Quick Slots"), stating that as more institutional activity moves on-chain, it is necessary to increase Ethereum's speed. The proposal plans to initially reduce Ethereum's block time from the current 12 seconds to 10 seconds. Ethlabs previously said that 20 DeFi founders have publicly supported the proposal and that it is merging its specifications with Ethereum's main codebase to push for its inclusion in the subsequent upgrade Hegotá.
