Binance Wallet Adds USDT Gas Fee Payments on 4 Networks
cryptonewsBinance Wallet has supported using USDT to pay gas fees on four blockchain networks since Sept. 25, allowing users to transact without holding each chain's native gas token in advance.
According to Binance's updated support document, the "Binance Wallet Gas Fee Guide," the feature is now live on BNB Smart Chain, Ethereum, Solana, and TRON. When users hold USDT in Binance Wallet, they can choose to use the stablecoin to offset network fees when executing supported transactions.
Previously, users typically needed to hold BNB to transact on BNB Smart Chain, ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana, and TRX on TRON. If the wallet lacked the corresponding native token, users might be unable to complete on-chain transactions even if their account held the assets they wanted to transfer.
Binance stated that the wallet calculates network fees in real time based on current blockchain network conditions. The company revealed that it will expand support to more networks in the future but has not provided a specific timeline.
Binance Wallet Supports USDT Gas Fee Deduction on 4 Networks
The USDT payment option changes how Binance Wallet users pay transaction costs, but it does not eliminate the underlying blockchain fees. Network fees required to process transactions are still received by blockchain validators or other network participants.
Binance clearly stated in the support guide: "No part of the network fee goes to Binance." The company distinguishes blockchain gas fees from service fees that Binance Wallet may charge for certain products, including Swap.
Network fees remain dynamic. Binance noted that when users compete for transaction processing order, network congestion may push up fees on Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) networks and Solana. Conversely, when network activity is low, required fees decrease accordingly.
TRON operates through its unique resource model, which uses Bandwidth and Energy. Users can obtain resources through mechanisms such as staking TRX or renting energy. According to Binance's explanation, when available resources are insufficient to cover a transaction, the system may burn TRX to pay the remaining cost.
For Binance Wallet users, USDT has now become another way to pay these costs on the supported chains. Binance did not indicate any changes to the native fee mechanisms of these blockchain networks themselves.
Exchange Account Balances Provide Another Fee Payment Channel
If users have insufficient USDT balance in Binance Wallet, they can also use supported asset balances in their Binance exchange accounts on the four networks mentioned above.
Binance's official support page lists assets such as BNB, USDT, USDC, ETH, and SOL, which can be deducted through eligible Spot, Funding, or Earn account balances. Users can select the "Exchange Account" option when choosing the network fee payment method.
When both the USDT in the wallet and eligible exchange balances are insufficient, Binance also lists several other options: users can withdraw the required gas token from Binance exchange, receive tokens from other wallets, or use a bank card to purchase supported assets.
Another independent option allows eligible users to use BNB from their Spot or Funding accounts to pay gas fees on BNB Smart Chain, Ethereum, and opBNB. Binance stated that users need to hold more than 0.01 BNB in the relevant account before selecting this payment method.
The company continues to remind users to select the correct blockchain when transferring assets between Binance and other wallets. Its withdrawal guide emphasizes that choosing an incompatible network may result in unrecoverable assets.
TRON Users Enjoy Separate Zero Gas Fee Promotion
Before this feature launch, Binance Wallet had already launched another independent promotion for transfers on the TRON network.
Starting Sept. 23, eligible users can enjoy zero gas fees when sending USDT and other TRC-20 tokens through Binance Wallet. According to Binance Wallet's announcement, the promotion will run until Dec. 22, 2026.
Binance stated that the promotion is supported by TRON DAO and is subject to available campaign slots. After the promotion period ends, eligible transfers will be subject to a discounted rate of 1 USDT per transaction.
To use this offer, users can initiate a transfer in Binance Wallet, select the token and destination, and choose the network fee payer when signing the transaction. Before confirming, they can select USDT as the payment method.
The TRON promotion and the USDT feature on four networks cover related transaction costs under different terms. The support document positions USDT as a gas fee payment option on BNB Smart Chain, Ethereum, Solana, and TRON, while the TRON promotion directly reduces eligible TRC-20 transfer fees to zero for a limited time.
Binance Wallet Continues to Lower Transaction Barriers
Since renaming the product to "Binance Wallet" (formerly Binance Web3 Wallet) in December 2024, Binance has made multiple optimizations to the self-custody wallet.
The renamed Binance Wallet introduced a unified wallet interface and adjusted asset management and airdrop sections. Binance stated at the time that the upgrades would be rolled out in multiple phases.
In subsequent wallet promotions, network fees and transaction fees remained separate. In February 2025, Binance waived eligible wallet Swap trading fees, but users still needed to bear blockchain gas fees themselves.
Since then, Binance Wallet has further expanded the scope of services offered by the self-custody product. In April 2026, the wallet launched perpetual contract trading through its App and web interfaces, accompanied by a volume-linked Alpha Points campaign.
In May, Binance Wallet integrated the Event Rush service on BNB Chain, allowing verified users to trade tokens linked to event outcomes using USDT. The service operates through third-party decentralized applications (DApps) and is restricted in some regions.
Binance's current official documentation identifies Binance Wallet as a self-custody product provided by Binance Barbados Limited. The company states that the wallet service is not supervised by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority or any other regulatory body.
