2. Bitcoin Rises to $86,600, Gains More Than 14% Over the Week
Bitcoin was last trading around $86,621, up 1.14% over 24 hours and 14.19% over the past seven days, with a market capitalization of roughly $1.74 trillion. ETH traded near $2,767, up 15.10% for the week, while SOL reached about $118.98, gaining 22.53% over seven days.
3. ZEC Breaks Above $1,600, Gains 43% Over the Week
ZEC traded around $1,610, up 9.46% over 24 hours and 43.26% over the past seven days. Its market capitalization reached approximately $27.18 billion, keeping it ninth among crypto assets. HYPE traded around $97.33, up 25.81% over seven days.
4. Total Crypto Market Cap Rises to $2.95 Trillion as Fear & Greed Index Hits 77
CoinMarketCap data showed total crypto market capitalization at around $2.95 trillion, up 1.35% over 24 hours. The Fear & Greed Index rose to 77, entering “Greed” territory, while derivatives open interest stood at roughly $441.7 billion.
5. CFTC Chair Says US Markets Must Prepare for “Large-Scale Tokenization”
CFTC Chair Michael Selig said regulators need to prepare for “large-scale tokenization,” on-chain finance and 24/7 trading. He added that the agency will continue studying compliant uses of stablecoins across trading, exchanges and clearing organizations.
6. ECB Proposes Removing MiCA’s Mandatory Bank-Deposit Ratios for Stablecoins
The European Central Bank and EU national central banks have proposed changes to MiCA rules that would remove requirements for stablecoin issuers to hold 30% of reserves—and 60% for significant stablecoins—as bank deposits. Instead, issuers would be required to hold a proportion of assets that mature or can be liquidated within one to five business days.
7. X Integrates Crypto Platforms as It Expands Stock and Crypto Trading Access
X has begun allowing US users to click Cashtags such as $BTC to view real-time prices and connect to trading platforms including Coinbase. The feature marks another step toward integrating social feeds with stock and crypto trading access.
8. 52 BTC From Coldcard Incident Moved to Asset-Recovery Trust Address
Galaxy Digital said white-hat participants transferred about 52.37 BTC linked to the July Coldcard wallet incident into a newly established asset-recovery trust address. The incident involved exploiting flaws in software-generated randomness to reconstruct wallet seeds and resulted in losses exceeding $100 million.
