Dogecoin Price（DOGE）USD

Dogecoin is a cryptocurrency derived from Litecoin. It was created by programmer Billy Markus from Oregon. Dogecoin’s logo is the same as the Shiba Inu dog in Doge’s “meme”, which aims to become an interesting cryptocurrency. It was first launched on December 8, 2013.
 

Dogecoin Production Schedule

Dogecoin’s initial production plan was quite rapid. By the end of 2014, there will be about 100 billion Dogecoins in circulation. Each subsequent year will produce 5.2 billion coins. By April 26, 2014, more than 74 billion coins had been mined.

Different from Litecoin, Dogecoin’s block time is 1 minute, and 4 hours is the difficult target time. For each block, the miner will be rewarded with a random number of coins. This can be zero or the maximum value of any definition of the block. For each block mined, the maximum reward will be reduced. Starting from 600001 blocks, the fixed reward will be 10000.

 

What’s the Matter With the Dog on the Coin?

“Doge” is an interesting and friendly mascot! The Shiba Inu is a dog breed in Japan. It is popularized as an online memo. It represents Dogecoin.

The use of the misspelled word “doge” to refer to a dog dates back to June 24, 2005, when the word was mentioned on the Homestar Runner puppet show. In an episode entitled “Biz CAS Fri1”, homestar calls Strong Bad his “d-o-g-e” and tries to distract him.

On February 23, 2010, Atsuko Sato , a kindergarten teacher in Japan, posted several photos of her rescuing the adopted Shiba Inu dog Kabosu on her personal blog. Among these photos, there is a strange one. Kabosu sits on the sofa, stares at the camera sideways, and his eyebrows rise (as shown below, right).
