Queen Elizabeth II NFTs Flooded Hours After Her Death

In less than 24 hours after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the crypto market has seen dozens of newly created meme coins related to the Queen and hundreds of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) depicting her images.

 

Data acquired from the Dex Screener confirmed that crypto degens had flooded the crypto market with meme-themed tokens, such as Queen Elizabeth Inu, Save the Queen, Queen, QueenDoge, London Bridge is Down, and Rip Queen Elizabeth, among others.

According to Dex Screener, the Queen Elizabeth Inu token on the Binance Smart Chain-based PancakeSwap has become the top-selling token in the past 24 hours. The meme-themed token has surged more than 28,506%. At the time of writing, the crypto token oscillates around $0.000800.

 

Elizabeth token has also appeared in the top-selling tokens with a $391,000 trade volume, distantly following Queen Elizabeth Inu, which has attracted more than $2.7 million in trade volume in less than 12 hours. The digital asset has also pumped 8,442% to sit at $0.059931 over the same period.

 

Over on one of the largest non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace, OpenSea, the rest in peace (RIP) Queen Elizabeth NFT project has also sprouted up within hours after the passing away of Queen Elizabeth II.

Queen Token’s Rise Has Caused Heated Debate Online

Nonetheless, the recent rally of the Queen tokens has attracted heated discussion online. While commenting on social media, Reddit user “woliphirl” joked that he was bullish that the U.K will adopt Queen Elizabeth II meme tokens as their national currency in the coming weeks.

 

In response, another Reddit user said he was very embarrassed about how the crypto industry has been flooded with queen meme tokens at a time like now. Crypto degens have already created more than 520 NFTs collections, featuring renditions of the queen with sinister undertones.

 

Queen Elizabeth II passed away at 96 years. She was the longest-serving monarch of a sovereign country, which has served 70 years and 214 days at the helm in England. Queen Elizabeth received full support from citizens and held monarch approval rates of around 90% during her reign.
