一方で、金曜に発表されたCPIレポートによると、3月のガソリン価格は21.2%上昇した。米労働統計局によれば、これは1967年の統計開始以降最大の月間上昇幅とのこと。

ヘッドラインCPIは前年同月比3.3%となり、2月の2.4%から上昇。

雇用統計がFRBにさらなる圧力

3月の非農業部門雇用者数は17万8000人増となり、事前予想の6万5000人のほぼ3倍。表面的には、FRBが金利を高止まりさせる根拠となる。

ただし、ドゥオン氏は、労働力率が61.9%と依然低水準で推移し、賃金上昇率も前年同月比3.5%に減速していると指摘。また、過去の雇用統計は継続的に下方修正されてきた。

ドゥオン氏によれば、この状況ではFRBは非常に難しい立場を強いられる。見かけほど経済成長は強くなく、ただし戦争によるインフレ懸念が続くため、早期の利下げを正当化できるほど弱くもない。

ドゥオン氏は、注視すべき原油価格として84ドルを挙げる。この水準を持続的に下回れば、インフレ圧力の後退を示唆し、早期解決の可能性を高める。

逆に原油価格が100ドルを超えた状態が続く場合、長期化する紛争やリスク資産への新たな圧力が織り込まれ、BTCにも影響が及ぶとみられる。
