Stellar’s latest move slaps a security badge on its smart contract ambitions. Enter Soroban Audit Bank—a vault for code scrutiny that might just make ’rug-proof’ more than a marketing buzzword.

No more wild west dev work. The network now mandates audits for all Soroban smart contracts before deployment. Third-party firms get incentivized to poke holes, while developers gain credibility—assuming they pass, of course.

Here’s the kicker: Auditors earn XLM payouts from a communal pool. A clever play to align incentives, though cynics might note it’s cheaper than refunding hacked investors.

Smart contracts remain crypto’s most dangerous playground. Stellar’s not eliminating risk—just outsourcing the liability with style.

Stellar (XLM) Enhances Smart Contract Security with Soroban Audit Bank

The Stellar (XLM) Development Foundation (SDF) has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing security standards for projects on its network by launching the Soroban Security Audit Bank. This initiative, introduced last year, provides projects with access to auditing experts to ensure the highest security standards are maintained, according to Stellar.

Elevating Security Standards

The Soroban Security Audit Bank is designed to support projects funded through the Stellar Community Fund by offering expert audits. Projects meeting the criteria can secure their smart contracts by submitting an audit request. This initiative underscores SDF’s dedication to fostering a secure and resilient ecosystem for smart contracts on the Stellar network.

Encouraging Participation and Support

For projects not yet built on Stellar, the SDF encourages developers to engage with the Stellar Community Fund, which can offer future eligibility for security audits and ecosystem support. This strategic MOVE aims to broaden participation and support within the Stellar network, enhancing its overall security framework.

Upcoming Workshops and Community Engagement

In addition to the Soroban Security Audit Bank, SDF is organizing a series of workshops focused on best practices for smart contract security. The kick-off event, titled "Soroban Security Best Practices," is scheduled for May 30, 2025, at 2 PM ET. These workshops are part of SDF’s broader efforts to engage the community and promote a secure blockchain environment.

Through these initiatives, the Stellar Development Foundation is actively shaping the future of smart contract security, ensuring that developers and projects on its network are equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary to build securely and effectively.
