Ripple has partnered with Chipper Cash to improve cross-border payments across Africa. The partnership uses Ripple’s blockchain technology to provide faster, more efficient and cheaper transactions. Chipper Cash has integrated Ripple Payments to improve financial access and efficiency for millions of users across Africa.
Chipper Cash Leverages Ripple’s Robust Payment Network
Ripple’s crypto-powered payments network will benefit Chipper Cash which provides payments services to more than five million users across nine African countries. This integration will allow users to receive global payments 24/7 at reduced expenses.The partnership improves access to cross-border payments across Africa amid the growing demand for digital financial solutions.
Ripple’s Middle East and Africa Managing Director, Reece Merrick stressed that this partnership is important for Ripple’s expansion. Merrick added that Chipper Cash applies blockchain technology to streamline global payment transactions. This partnership will enhance economic development and innovation in markets where Chipper Cash operates.
Ham Serunjogi , Co-Founder and CEO of Chipper Cash , explained that cryptocurrency payments could boost financial inclusion. He believes Ripple’s international network will allow Chipper Cash to provide fast and low cost payment solutions. The incorporation of Ripple technology within Chipper Cash will facilitate faster, cheaper and reliable cross-border transactions.
Ripple’s Market Expansion
Ripple continues to build digital asset infrastructure for financial institutions across the world. Ripple has more than ten years of experience in tokenization of real-world assets platform which aims to transfer fiat currencies on-chain which simplifies international money transfers. Ripple’s payments solution operates in more than 90 payout markets and covers more than 90% of the daily foreign exchange market.
Furthermore, Ripple expanded its African operations through a partnership with Onafriq in 2023. Ripple’s blockchain solutions enable financial institutions to execute secure and compliant tokenization, storage, exchange and transfer of digital assets. This partnership with Chipper Cash aims to promote the adoption of blockchain technology across Africa for international money transfers.
Ripple announced this partnership after its successful resolution of its legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Ripple paid $50 million against a total penalty of $125 million to settle its legal dispute which marks a major milestone for the company. Ripple’s operations faced substantial disruption during the prolonged court battle which lasted more than four years.
