What is bullion value?

Bullion value is the value given to a coin based upon the amount of precious metal that the coin contains. Some coins are made out of copper (pennies), clad copper/nickel (nickels, dimes, quarters, half dollars and dollars dated 1965 and after), silver (dimes, quarters, half dollars and dollars dated 1964 and before) and gold (1933 and prior).

Is bullion a good investment?

Private individuals use bullion primarily as an investment or as a long term store of value. Gold bullion and silver bullion are the most important forms of physical precious metals investments.

What is a bouillon?

The term is ordinarily applied to bulk metal used in the production of coins and especially to precious metals such as gold and silver. It comes from the Anglo-Norman term for a melting-house where metal was refined, and earlier from French bouillon, "boiling".
