View ChartDeFiner (FIN) is a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform built to deliver trustless digital savings, loans, and payment services through a peer-to-peer network. The project was founded to remove the friction and costs associated with conventional financial services, offering users maximum flexibility to set their own rates and terms. DeFiner operates as a permissionless decentralized lending protocol that enables users to lend, borrow, and stake tokens on Ethereum with complete control and privacy. The platform is designed around a HODLer Market where participants can hold, borrow, and earn, alongside a Treasure Hunting Program for additional engagement. DeFiner 2.0 represents a permissionless upgrade intended to enhance platform capabilities and user experience. The native FIN token is a fully audited ERC-20 cryptographic token that connects the entire ecosystem. FIN has a total supply of 168,000,000 tokens, with allocation including POP Mining at 50.00% and Team and Equity Investors at 5.00%. The project conducted its ICO in September 2020 and launched its token on Sept. 29, 2020. Since its early 2021 price peak, the project has experienced a sustained decline, and public development activity has ceased.
DeFiner was founded in March 2018. The CEO and Co-founder of DeFiner is Jason Wu. The project's team is described as including a diverse group of subject matter experts in blockchain, finance, and related fields, with an association to Marion Kauffman. The Seed funding round attracted investments from Signum Capital, Alphabit, and SNZ Holding. DeFiner also hosted a Private Sale through CoinList to give members of its existing ecosystem access to the token. Public information about the broader core team and individual contributors beyond the CEO is limited. Since mid-2023, the team has ceased public communication, with no updates, blog posts, or community calls, and the project's Twitter handle last tweeted in June 2023.
DeFiner operates as a permissionless and configurable decentralized lending protocol on the Ethereum blockchain. Users can lend, borrow, and stake tokens with complete control and privacy. The platform removes the need for third parties by using an immutable blockchain to track all loans and transactions, providing security for users. Supported assets include Ethereum, Bitcoin (wrapped), and other supported tokens that can be locked up to earn interest, while others can borrow against their holdings and pay interest in return. DeFiner's DeFi savings product is designed to allow users to earn interest on stored assets, and its lending product supports a growing user base. The HODLer Market enables holding, borrowing, and earning activities, while the Treasure Hunting Program offers additional engagement opportunities. DeFiner 2.0 introduced a permissionless upgrade to enhance platform capabilities. The FIN token connects all parts of the ecosystem, with profit distribution, voting rights, and proof of premium functions. Governance is permissionless and configurable, with one token equalling one vote on the network.
DeFiner's original value proposition centered on delivering trustless, decentralized financial services with 24/7 global accessibility and significantly lower costs than traditional finance. The platform removed friction and costs associated with conventional financial services and offered maximum flexibility for users to set their own rates and terms. By eliminating third parties through immutable blockchain tracking, DeFiner aimed to provide ultimate security for users. The platform's HODLer Market and Treasure Hunting Program were designed to create additional engagement opportunities beyond standard lending and borrowing. The FIN token's three primary uses—profit distribution, voting rights, and proof of premium—were intended to align incentives across the ecosystem. DeFiner also emphasized a multifaceted security approach integrating technological measures and operational protocols, including hardware wallet support, non-custodial wallets, and cold storage solutions. However, the project's unique value proposition has been severely undermined by its subsequent operational decline, with no active development, no platform interface, and extremely limited liquidity.
The FIN token serves three primary functions within the DeFiner ecosystem. First, profit distribution: DeFiner redistributes profits collected on the platform back to FIN token holders, including any transaction fees and interest. Second, voting rights: the FIN token represents voting rights for holders, with one token equalling one vote on the network, empowering users to control the development of the platform. Third, proof of premium: the FIN token acts as proof of premium on the platform, with users being rewarded in FIN for lending capital and collateral on the network. Beyond the token itself, the DeFiner platform was designed for digital savings, loans, and payments. Users could earn interest on stored assets, borrow against their holdings, and participate in the HODLer Market and Treasure Hunting Program. The platform supported Ethereum, Bitcoin (wrapped), and other supported tokens for locking up to earn interest or borrowing against holdings. However, there is currently no platform to use FIN on—no lending interface, no borrowing portal, and no staking dashboard—although FIN tokens can still be bought on AscendEX.
The DeFiner ecosystem has effectively ceased development. GitHub shows zero commits since Q4 2021. By mid-2023, the team had vanished, with no updates, no blog posts, and no community calls. The Twitter handle @DeFinerOrg last tweeted in June 2023. The website definer.org now shows a parked domain with ads. Community activity is virtually non-existent, with no buzz, no Reddit threads, no YouTube explainers, and no news coverage. A search on Reddit shows only 12 mentions of DeFiner in the past year, and review sites like Trustpilot have zero reviews. The project raised $2.17 million across six funding rounds, including an initial DEX offering, but there is no public audit, no transparent treasury, and no explanation of where the money went. The fully diluted valuation is only $4,700. Analysts at CoinDesk and Delphi Digital classify DeFiner as a dead project. Messari's Q4 2025 report notes that projects with market caps under $100,000 have a 98.7% failure rate within 18 months, and DeFiner's market cap is under $5,000.
DeFiner does not use a traditional mining mechanism. The FIN token is an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum platform, and its distribution includes POP Mining, which accounts for 50.00% of the token allocation. POP Mining refers to a distribution method rather than proof-of-work mining. The token was fully audited by Taka Security in compliance with the ERC-20 token standard. There is no proof-of-work or proof-of-stake consensus mechanism associated with FIN itself, as it relies on Ethereum's network consensus. Staking functionality was part of the original platform design, allowing users to stake tokens, but with the platform's decline and the absence of a staking dashboard, staking is no longer practically accessible. The project's GitHub repository has shown zero commits since Q4 2021, and there is no active development of mining or staking infrastructure.
DeFiner's original security approach emphasized a multifaceted strategy integrating technological measures and operational protocols. The platform leveraged hardware wallet security features, supporting specific models that enable users to have full control over their seed phrases, private keys, and assets. This encouraged users to store critical information offline on devices equipped with FLASH memory and encryption, significantly reducing the risk of online theft or hacking. DeFiner also adopted non-custodial wallets, giving users complete control over their funds without the need for a third party, minimizing risk associated with centralized custodianship. Cold storage solutions were emphasized for safeguarding assets. For current holders, standard security practices remain essential: use hardware wallets for long-term storage, never share private keys or seed phrases, verify contract addresses before interacting with any token, and be aware that the official website now shows a parked domain, so avoid entering sensitive information on unofficial sites. Given the project's inactive status and the lack of platform support, holders should exercise extreme caution and recognize the significant risks associated with an illiquid and inactive token.
