View ChartUnMarshal (MARSH) is a multi-chain DeFi network of indexers that provides seamless access to blockchain data for decentralized finance applications. It delivers rich, meaningful, and reliable data through decentralized network nodes, catering to the "Data Agenda" of various blockchains. The project is a chain-agnostic blockchain protocol consisting of a network of blockchain indexes designed to curate and transform data. Data is served in multiple formats including APIs, Websockets, GraphQL, and Notifications, removing the need for application developers to decode unstructured data into their native applications. UnMarshal offers a Golang SDK and a TypeScript library to simplify access to its APIs. The MARSH token operates on the Ethereum platform as an ERC20 token and is also deployed on BNB Chain as a BEP20 token. The total and maximum supply of MARSH is 100,000,000 tokens, with approximately 67.64 million tokens in circulation. The project launched in 2021 and has since evolved into a decentralized network that officially went live on March 31, 2025.
The founders of UnMarshal are Manohara K. and Manohar Shetty, who also established Eucrypt Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Their backgrounds are in technology and blockchain. Manohar serves as Founder and CEO of UnMarshal. Before starting UnMarshal, he worked as a back-end consultant for several DeFi projects and encountered the limitations of existing data solutions, which inspired the creation of UnMarshal. Nishanth Shankar Ram is also part of the UnMarshal team and has represented the project in public AMA sessions. The project raised $2.6 million in seed and private rounds on March 19, 2021, with backing from investors including AscendEX, Woodstock, Black Edge Capital, NGC Ventures, GBV Capital, AU21 Capital, Spark Digital Capital, Zokyo, Altonomy, X21 Digital, Brilliance Ventures, ExNetwork Capital, Amesten Capital, and Particle XYZ. Public sales were conducted on Polkastarter with a $204,000 hard cap and on ZeeDO with a $25,000 hard cap, both on March 30, 2021.
UnMarshal operates as a decentralized network of blockchain data indexers and transformation tools that power DeFi applications on any chain. The protocol consists of a network of blockchain indexes that curate and organize data from multiple chains. Data consumers stake MARSH tokens to access infrastructure services, while indexers stake MARSH tokens to become node operators responsible for providing indexing and query processing. The network delivers data through various formats including APIs, Websockets, GraphQL, and Notifications, allowing developers to integrate blockchain data into their applications without the burden of decoding raw, unstructured data. UnMarshal is chain-agnostic, meaning it can serve data across different blockchain networks. The introduction of RAG for AI-powered blockchain insights on February 13, 2025, further enhanced the platform's data capabilities. The decentralized network officially went live on March 31, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the project's evolution from a centralized service to a decentralized protocol.
UnMarshal distinguishes itself through its chain-agnostic architecture, enabling it to serve data across multiple blockchain networks without being tied to a single ecosystem. The network provides rich, meaningful, and reliable access to data through decentralized nodes, eliminating the need for developers to manually decode unstructured data. This significantly reduces the development burden for dApp creators, allowing them to focus on delivering intuitive user experiences. The platform supports multiple data formats including APIs, Websockets, GraphQL, and Notifications, offering flexibility for different use cases. The Golang SDK and TypeScript library further simplify integration for developers. UnMarshal's partnership with EigenLayer to decentralize indexing, announced on March 28, 2025, strengthens its decentralized infrastructure. The introduction of RAG for AI-powered blockchain insights positions UnMarshal at the intersection of AI and blockchain data services. Additionally, the project's focus on the "Data Agenda" of various blockchains addresses a critical need in the DeFi ecosystem for reliable, structured, and easily accessible on-chain data.
MARSH is the utility token that powers UnMarshal's network and incentivizes network contributors such as node runners and indexers. The token has three primary use cases. First, payment: data consumers using the infrastructure stake MARSH tokens to access infrastructure services. Second, staking: indexers stake MARSH tokens to become node operators, enabling them to provide indexing and query processing services. Third, reward: other network contributors earn MARSH tokens as rewards for contributing their services to the network. This creates a circular economy where token holders can participate in the network's operation and governance while being compensated for their contributions. On April 17, 2025, UnMarshal completed a 500,000 token burn, reducing the circulating supply and potentially increasing the scarcity of the remaining tokens. The token serves as the economic backbone of the UnMarshal ecosystem, aligning incentives between data consumers, node operators, and other network participants.
The UnMarshal ecosystem has been actively expanding through partnerships and integrations. On December 18, 2024, UnMarshal partnered with LinqAI, followed by a partnership with Ispolink on December 26, 2024. HyperGPT joined the UnMarshal ecosystem on December 30, 2024. In January 2025, UnMarshal integrated with Movement Network on January 3, integrated with Self Chain on January 13, and partnered with Mind AI on January 17. February 2025 saw a partnership with Synthelix on February 4, the introduction of RAG for AI-powered blockchain insights on February 13, and a partnership with Multiple Network on February 21. On March 5, 2025, UnMarshal integrated Realio Network to enhance multi-chain wallet APIs. The partnership with EigenLayer to decentralize indexing was announced on March 28, 2025, followed by the official launch of UnMarshal's decentralized network on March 31, 2025. NodeOps joined as a network node operator on April 7, 2025, and a 500,000 token burn was completed on April 17, 2025. This steady stream of partnerships and integrations demonstrates the project's commitment to building a robust multi-chain data infrastructure.
UnMarshal does not use traditional mining like proof-of-work blockchains. Instead, the network operates on a staking-based model. Indexers stake MARSH tokens to become node operators and provide indexing and query processing services to the network. These node operators are responsible for curating and delivering blockchain data to data consumers. Other network contributors can also earn MARSH tokens as rewards for contributing their services. Data consumers stake MARSH tokens to access the infrastructure services provided by the network. This creates a participatory ecosystem where token holders can actively contribute to the network's operation and earn rewards. The decentralized network officially went live on March 31, 2025, enabling broader participation from node operators and indexers. To participate, users typically need to acquire MARSH tokens, stake them according to the network's requirements, and fulfill the responsibilities of a node operator or contributor. Detailed staking requirements and reward structures are available through the project's official documentation.
Keeping your MARSH tokens safe requires following standard cryptocurrency security practices. Since MARSH is an ERC20 token on Ethereum and a BEP20 token on BNB Chain, you can store it in compatible wallets that support these standards. Hardware wallets provide the highest level of security by keeping your private keys offline and away from potential online threats. When using software wallets, ensure you download them from official sources and keep your recovery phrase securely backed up in a physical location, never sharing it with anyone. Be cautious of phishing attempts, fake websites, and social media scams that may try to steal your credentials. Always verify contract addresses before interacting with any token or smart contract. Since UnMarshal's contract addresses are publicly available, double-check that you are interacting with the correct contract. Consider using multiple wallets to diversify risk and avoid keeping large amounts of tokens on exchanges or in hot wallets. Regularly update your wallet software and device operating systems to protect against known vulnerabilities. Enable two-factor authentication where available and remain vigilant about the latest security best practices in the cryptocurrency space.
