大手投資会社の一部は仮想通貨に傍観姿勢、ビットコインが10万ドル突破でも

[ダボス（スイス）ロイター ２３日 ロイター] - 暗号資産（仮想通貨）のビットコインが１０万ドルの大台を突破し、「仮想通貨大統領」になると公約したトランプ氏が米大統領に就任したにもかかわらず、世界最大級の投資会社の一部は今週、仮想通貨を引き続き傍観する姿勢を示した。 米ニューヨークとシカゴに本社を置くグッゲンハイム・パートナーズのアン・ウォルシュ最高投資責任者（ＣＩＯ）は、ロイター・グローバル・マーケット・フォーラムに対して「私は擁護者でも批判者でもない（中略）それ（仮想通貨）はなるはずだったものになっていない。それは銀行業に取って代わるということだった」と言及。その上で「私から見て仮想通貨が本当に相関しているのはナスダック市場であり、私にとってはリスク選好指標だ」と語った。 ウォルシュ氏は３３５０億ドルを超える資産を運用する自身の投資会社は、今のところ仮想通貨には投資していないと説明した。 一方、世界最大の１兆８０００億ドル規模のノルウェーの政府系ファンド、ノルゲス・バンク・インベストメント・マネジメントのニコライ・タンゲン最高経営責任者（ＣＥＯ）は、仮想通貨がポートフォリオの一部になることはないと言及した。 シカゴを拠点とする資産運用会社ヌビーンのＣＩＯ兼株式・債券部門責任者のサイラ・マリク氏は「投資家として、仮想通貨の真の基本的価値が何なのかを見極めることは難しい」とし、１兆３０００億ドルの運用資産を持つ同社は仮想通貨への直接的なエクスポージャーはないと解説した。一方、デジタル資産に関わる可能性のある企業には投資している。 米ロサンゼルスが拠点の資産運用会社ＴＣＷグループのメリッサ・ストルフィ最高執行責任者（ＣＯＯ）は「（仮想通貨に）真に秀でるためには多くのテクノロジー、多くの知的パワー、才能を組織に取り込む必要がある」とし、総額２０００億ドル弱の資産を運用する同社は主力ビジネスの強化と維持に引き続き力を入れていると述べた。 トランプ氏が大統領に就任した２０日、ビットコインは史上最高値となる１０万９０７１ドルを記録した。
