Turkey Says It May Provide Assistance to Saudi Arabia

Odaily News: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on September 19 that in response to recent attacks on Saudi Arabia by Yemen's Houthi armed group, Turkey is ready to provide assistance under the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement. Fidan said that signatory countries to the agreement are monitoring the attacks on Saudi Arabia, and that Saudi Arabia's military needs may focus on certain technical issues, which Turkey will be able to meet. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan signed the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement on August 7. According to a joint statement issued by the three parties that day, the agreement aims to strengthen joint deterrence against any act of aggression. The agreement stipulates that an armed attack on any one of the three countries will be regarded as an attack on all three. (CCTV International News)
