Ethereum Institutional supports shortening Ethereum block time: EIP-8198 aims to reduce it to 10 seconds

The nonprofit organization Ethereum Institutional posted on X expressing support for the proposal to shorten Ethereum block time EIP-8198 ("Quick Slots") put forward by Ethlabs, stating that as more institutional activities move on-chain, it is necessary to enhance Ethereum's speed.The proposal plans to initially shorten Ethereum's block time from the current 12 seconds to 10 seconds. Ethlabs previously stated that 20 DeFi founders have publicly supported the proposal and are merging its specifications with the Ethereum main codebase to promote its inclusion in the upcoming upgrade Hegotá.
