đ¨ Ripple vs. SEC: Judge Torres Greenlights Key MemoâIs XRP Primed for a $15 Breakout?
The crypto courtroom drama takes another twist as Judge Analisa Torres stamps approval on a pivotal memo in the Ripple-SEC showdown. XRP bulls are already pricing in a knockoutâbut can the third-largest crypto really 10x from here?
Behind the gavel: Torresâ endorsement kicks open the door for Rippleâs fair notice defense, potentially neutering the SECâs enforcement playbook. Market makers are whispering about institutional FOMO if the ruling creates regulatory daylight.
Price check: XRPâs 15% intraday pump smells like hedge funds front-running retail (again). The $15 moon call assumes total SEC capitulationâbecause nothing says âsound legal strategyâ like betting your portfolio on a single judgeâs signature.
Reality bite: Even if Ripple wins, the SECâs appeal playbook could drag this out longer than a Bitcoin maximalistâs âI told you soâ tweetstorm. But for now? The algos are buying first and asking questions never.
Ripple to Drop Cross-Appeal After SEC Filing in August
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse confirmed to drop their cross-appeal in the 2nd Circuit Court. However, the firm WOULD pay $125,035,150 in civil penalty and the injunction barred Ripple from filing for IPO for at least 4 more years, as per an SEC lawyer.
The SEC is scheduled to file a status report in the 2nd Circuit Court by August 15. Ripple will follow up to drop their cross-appeals, in line with Judge Torresâ ruling.
Former SEC lawyer Marc Fagel clarifies that it typically takes 1-2 months for the SEC to approve an enforcement recommendation. He said an SEC public statement about dropping Ripple appeal can come at any time in the next few weeks.
The SEC and Ripple will file dismissal papers with the court of appeals, which are public. (The SEC may also put out a public announcement, but because this is so unusual I can't say for sure.) But when this all happens is speculation; presumably within the next few weeks.
