BTCC Pizza Day Promotion: Free Physical Bitcoins Worth Nearly $300, and Pizza!
May 22nd marks the seventh anniversary of the most expensive pizzas ever purchased. On this date in 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz paid 10,000 BTC for two Papa John’s pizzas.
At the time, the purchase represented a rite of passage for the digital currency, but the transaction has since evolved into an annual reflection of how far bitcoin has come. While the 10,000 bitcoins were valued at approximately $20 in 2010, at today’s prices Laszlo has now paid nearly $20,000,000 for his Papa John’s.
To celebrate the anniversary of Bitcoin Pizza Day, BTCC is offering a pair of limited time promotions!
First, BTCC Mint is offering a one-time sale on our Bitcoin Chip Six Color Signature Set. Until May 24th, every purchase of one of these limited edition sets will include a BTCC Logo Set for free, worth nearly $300!
Just as Laszlo has become popularized for the most expensive pizzas ever purchased, BTCC hopes this event is remembered as the most lucrative promotion ever held.
BTCC Mobi is also giving away free pizza to Mobi users globally! On May 22nd, simply take a picture of yourself with a pizza, and tweet the image to @BTCCMobi with the hashtag #BTCPizzaDayWithMobi or email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. The best 25 submissions will be reimbursed up to $25 for their purchase!
