The University of Sao Paulo in Brazil Will Own its Own Land in Metaverse
2022/05/30By:
The University of Sao Paulo is working with radio CACA to establish a virtual headquarters in Metaverse and study its potential applications. The University of Sao Paulo (USP) and radio Kaka (Raca) signed a cooperation agreement to study different educational applications in the Metaverse of the United States of Mars by operating different virtual lands in the Metaverse.
According to the official information shared by the University of Sao Paulo; The team will evaluate the technical, economic and legal aspects of the yuan Qi circle and create a research plan to understand its internal operations and limitations.
In this way, the University of Sao Paulo became the first Latin American university to join hands with radio Kaka and other international universities to enter the metauniverse. However, outside the academic field, other major institutions are also trying to open offices in the Metaverse.
American Universities Will Own Land in USM Metaverse
The most interesting point is that the University of Sao Paulo will have its own “virtual land”, where it will establish a headquarters so that its employees and students can communicate with each other “in a virtual, augmented or mixed reality environment”.
In other words, any student will be able to enjoy the immersive experience provided by meta spatial interaction. This may fundamentally change the way students enjoy their academic life and open the debate on the possibility of a full-featured University operating only in the Metaverse.
The project itself is quite ambitious: in addition to the United States of Mars, it also relies on the support of the University blockchain research program (ubri), which is sponsored by ripple, one of the most relevant companies in the cryptocurrency industry. This experiment may be potentially helpful to different research fields, such as 3D modeling, VR, AR, distance education and psychological research, to name a few.

Radio CACA Hopes to Build an Open Metaverse for Universities
Jeff watney, CEO of radio CACA, said that the goal of the platform is to enable universities and content creators to “build an open Metaverse centered on user freedom”. He said that it was a great honor for them to work with the University of Sao Paulo to create “a new experience that can unleash the full potential of Web3“.
It is a great honor for Raca to let USP, the largest public university in Latin America, enter USM Metaverse. We will work together to create new experiences and unleash the full potential of Web3 for people. This is our goal to establish an open Metaverse focusing on user freedom.
Marcos A. Simplicio Jr, a professor at the University of the South Pacific, said that this was the first time that the university had received or processed an unforgeable token (NFT). The NFT involved is a virtual land in the 3D Metaverse of Mars in the United States.
Radio CACA has a huge community and the support of well-known companies, such as OKx blockdream ventures, the Tachyon accelerator of consensys mesh, and its new partner ripple labs Inc. therefore, if it is adopted in large universities around the world, this new Metaverse itself may be very beneficial to students and professors.
