The Low Point of the Expected Upgrade of the Dogecoin

Cryptocurrency enthusiast Doge whisper announced the release plan of Dogecoin upgrade 1.46.6, including better wallet protection and improved address information processing.

The announcement released by cryptocurrency enthusiasts Doge whisper and Dogecoin news indicates that the upgrade of Doge to 1.46.4 is coming, and improved wallet protection and better processing of address information are “necessary”.

Doge whisper posted the launch schedule of the upgrade on Twitter and the GitHub link of the doge source code base. In their tweets, they praised the development team behind the upgrade, “way to build team”, and acknowledged Patrick lodder, the author of the launch plan.

New Features of Dogecoin

In addition to wallet protection and better address information processing, lodder also promised that a known bitcoin vulnerability would be fixed. The Dogecoin core wallet, the official desktop wallet of the Dogecoin foundation, will be cheaper. Meanwhile, a gitian script will be released to allow future updates. Gitian scripts enable multiple developers to create the same executable, all signed by multiple parties, to ensure that the executable uses the same source code. It eliminates the opportunity for errors in the creation and distribution of executables.

Lodder also includes “should have” goals in the schedule, such as dependency updates and “important cleanup.” Lodder said that the development team needs to try to merge these. Other non critical issues that fall under the category of “cow have” are cleaning up code warnings during code compilation (turning human understandable code into computer understandable code) and improving ease of use. The developers of Dogecoin include Ross Nicoll, Michi Lumin, lodder and escanor liones, the chief maintainers.

In a recent twitter exchange with Dogecoin co-founder Billy Markus, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that he believes that Doge has “potential” as a currency. He pointed out that developers should focus on reducing transaction costs, reducing the time to verify a transaction block, and increasing the number of transactions in a block. Currently, the block time of Dogecoin is one minute, while that of bitcoin is 10 minutes.

Musk has always been an active supporter of Doge. His announcements have made cryptocurrencies soar for many times. The latest price surge came after the announcement that musk had become a shareholder in twitter.
