Gala Games Will Launch Spider Tanks Game on October 31

Gala Games blockchain gaming platform announced that it will launch Spider Tanks, the first Web3 PvP esports brawler on October 31.

Spider Tanks, the first Web3 PvP esports brawler, is announced to be launched by Blockchain gaming platform Gala Games on October 31. It will be the first game on Gala Games’ proprietary games-first blockchain, Project GYRI.

 

Spider Tanks is developed by award-winning Netherlands-based video game studio, GAMEDIA. The upcoming game is not only free to play, but also features various play-to-earn mechanics to earn rewards around skill-based competition, resource collection, and a player-driven upgrade cycle .

 

Gamers can assemble tank bodies and weapons in the garage to build their own mechanical monsters. Once their tanks are complete, players can battle it out in the game’s arena maps.

 

The esports brawler allows players to play with their close friends or test their skills in high-stakes competitions. Nearly 25,000 players participated in the recent open playtest each week, with over 600,000 matches played in total.

 

There is also a Spider Tanks store, where players can buy fully tradable and upgradeable tanks, bodies and weapons.

 

“Yet again we are ushering in new firsts in gaming as we get set to launch the first Web PvP esports brawler with earnings. Both players who play for free and those who choose to make purchases can be rewarded for their efforts,” said John Osvald, President of Games at Gala Games. “The launch of this game, coupled with that of our own blockchain, is further cementing our commitment to empowering gamers through ownership.”

 

To keep the game fresh, Spider Tanks offers three different game modes. Team Deathmatch is an all-out brawl-style match; Capture the Chicken challenges players to catch as many moving chickens as possible; and in Capture the Flag, the team must hold the flag for as long as possible.

 

Some of the game’s new features include the ability for players to build armies, upgrade them to increase their power, choose battlefields, and more.

 

Prior to the game’s release, Gala will launch a limited-time sale of its Spider Tanks Planetary Nodes, which will be run by community members who purchase licenses in this sale. In return for using their computing resources to power the decentralized Spider Tanks ecosystem, Node operator-owners will receive periodic rewards.

 

In February, Gala declared that it will set aside $5 billion over the next year to enhance NFT efforts, with $2 million of that spent on blockchain games.
