What is authenticated Transport (AT) protocol?

Called authenticated transport (AT) protocol, this is the technology upon which Bluesky is built. While Bluesky is the first major release on AT protocol, the technology is open and available for use by any user, developer, or company (in much the same way anyone can build on a public blockchain like Ethereum).
