• Color settings: 16 bit High Color (24 bit True Color recommended)

Internet Connection Speed:
• 56K for non-video courses (128K or higher recommended)
• 128K for video courses (256K or higher recommended)

Web Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 (or higher recommended)
• Text size: Smaller or Smallest
• Scripting of Java applets: Enable

MySQL

Server Minimum Requirements
• MySQL Database Server 3.23 or higher (MySQL Database does not have to reside on the same server that Xtention is installed on, but the client tools for MySQL Database MUST be installed on the same server that Xtention is installed on. This is included on the installation CD).
• Microsoft IIS 4 (5.0 highly recommended)
• Microsoft NT 4.0 Service Pack 6a or higher
• Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher
• Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 (XML Parser - included inside of MySQL directory as msxml.msi which automatically installs)
• The processor speed and memory requirements will vary greatly depending on your institution size. We suggest a dedicated server for optimal performance.
• MyODBC 2.1 or greater (which automatically installs)

MS SQL

Server Minimum Requirements
• Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 SP3 or higher (SQL Server does not have to reside on the same server that Xtention is installed on, but the client tools for SQL Server MUST be installed on the same server that Xtention is installed on)
• Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 (XML Parser - included inside of MySQL directory as msxml.msi which automatically installs)
• Microsoft IIS 5 (5.0 highly recommended)
• Microsoft NT 4.0 Service Pack 6a or higher (Windows 2000 highly recommended)
• The size of the database will vary based on customer preferences. We suggest dedicating approximately 200MB for growth.
• The processor speed and memory requirements will vary greatly depending on the institution size. We suggest a dedicated server for optimal performance.
• Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher

Client Machines Minimum Requirements
(for both MySQL and MS SQL Server)
• Flash Player 7.0 (or higher recommended) available at http://www.macromedia.com/
• Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher
• Java 1.3.1 is needed on EACH client machine
• NOTE: Students MUST have the permissions to install the Java Plug-In or the course will not work.
